An account executive burst into the studio. He threw his hands into the air and let out an anguished cry.
His client was sitting in the boardroom unable to reach a decision regarding which city they wanted to use for an international conference. They wanted to avoid the cliché of an Eiffel Tower for Paris or a Big Ben for London, and besides, they fancied Lisbon but remained unconvinced about how a defining icon of the city could be used as part of the all-important conference identity.
I jumped onto the internet, googled Lisbon landmarks and found several interesting images. After a few minutes of creative thought and energy, I went into the boardroom armed with a sketch pad and a few marker pens.
I listened to the client... In front of their eyes, I excitedly started sketching out my interpretation of one iconic landmark, two minutes later I presented the visual.
I left the meeting fifteen minutes later having convinced them of a design and their minds were made up.
